Jumping cones 2Your Road Map to Writing...

Greetings, students.  This website is to help you with the writing process.  Contrary to popular belief, the writing process can be very helpful...and not all that scary.  Just follow the simple steps and you'll have a grade A paper.  Maybe even a grade A+ paper!

The Writing Process consists of the following steps:

1 - Click image to download.   Prewrite
2 - Click image to download.  Rough Draft
3 - Click image to download. Revise
4 - Click image to download.  Partner Revise
5 - Click image to download.  Edit
6 - Click image to download.  Publish

Start by thinking of your given topic.  Have  an idea?  Write it down, no matter what it is.  This is what's known as brainstorming.  Anything might be helpful when writing a paper.

Take your brainstorming ideas and form paragraphs.  This kicks off your first writing draft.  Trust me, it will not be your last draft, but writing is always a work in progress.  Be sure to stay on topic and take out any sentences that do not relate to the topic.

Give your draft to someone to review and revise.  Their opinions can help you with your second draft.  This is the peer editing stage.

Take your peer's comments and use them to revise your paper and make it better.  Repeat the peer editing and revising steps as many times as needed.

When you are satisfied with your revisions, make your final draft and enjoy!

Take this quote and use the writing process to form an essay explaining this quote and what it means to you.

"Speak when you're angry and you'll make the biggest speech you'll ever regret" - John McEnroe
